Feb 2-4, 2024

8am PACIFIC time to 5:30pm PACIFIC on Friday and Saturday

8am to noon PACIFIC Sunday

(with hands-on engagement and ample break time throughout your Zoom day)

An exploration of the ways in which sacred story holds a community in times of turmoil, reminding them of their source, their identity and their ways - and the role of the storyteller in the process.

We are extremely excited to welcome Rabbi Elyse Goldstein to address us with a Jewish perspective on the role of sacred story in three keynote talks.  Equally exciting is our single opening keynote with singer-songwriter/theologian Steve Bell. Both Canadians are extremely well-respected in their fields, and will no doubt hold us spellbound.

This ecumenical festival is a 2 ½ day series of keynotes and wide-ranging workshops on biblical telling-related topics, such as: Biblical Telling 101, vocal care, telling your own story, biblical telling as spiritual practice, preaching, prison ministry, Godly Play, drawing the Word, the impact of word choices in describing the holy, Indigenous wisdom through story.

There will be an Epic (tag-team) Telling of selected texts from the stories of Deuteronomy, a featured performer: Indigenous comedienne Sharon Shorty, worship with song led by Paul Vasile of the Music That Makes Community approach. An incredible line-up for biblical tellers, worship leaders, speakers, scripture readers, Christian educators of any kind.
